On July 6, 2017, the Russian government approved the development strategy of agricultural machinery manufacturing by 2030.

    According to Russian prime minister dmitry medvedev, the demand for Russian agricultural machinery is growing in the domestic market and in foreign markets. Over the past five years, Russia has exported agricultural machinery and equipment to 47 countries. Production in 2016 was almost 60 percent higher than in 2015. Agricultural machinery manufacturers are starting to invest more money in research and development. In 2016, 75 new high performance machines were produced in mass production, and the localization rate of parts and materials was more than 70% of the mechanical cost.

   These achievements have been achieved thanks to strong support from the state for agricultural machinery manufacturers, and 13.7 billion rubles for this purpose in 2017.

   The new agricultural machinery manufacturing and development strategy will continue to stimulate the demand mechanism and gradually reduce the support level. By 2021, the proportion of agricultural equipment in the domestic market will be increased to 80%.

   In addition, the strategy is to increase exports to 50%. This will enable capacity load to reach 80-90%. The key markets for Russian agricultural machinery exports will be the European Union, South Africa, Australia, China and North America, except the cis countries.
